ezra and liza's blog

We're Ezra and Liza Jane. This our blog. It's where you can see what we've been up to lately. I'm Ezra. I love Mom, Dad, Sissy, playing outside, reading stories, soccer, building things, legoes and tigers. I'm Liza Jane. This is my blog, too. I love Mom, Dad, Ya Ya (Ezra), school, stories, being silly, dancing to music, taking care of my babies and showing off my big vocabulary.

Daddy's Pumpkin

So far, only Daddy has carved a face on a pumpkin. The others are cleaned and ready to become jack-o-lantern masterpieces... tomorrow.

The Girls and I

My friend Ana invited us and some other families over for a little autumn fun this morning. We carved pumpkins from her garden, made pumpkin muffins and pumpkin seeds. Actually, we kids lost or zeal for pumpkin carving a little early and left that messy task to be finished by the grown-ups while we hung out in Ana's bedroom. I quite liked getting cozy with Ana and Mea. We played with books and animals and babies and had a lot of fun.

Pumpkin Patch

Today I enjoyed walking through the pumpkin patch looking for just the right pumpkin. I also liked riding through the fields with our selections.

Save Me, Mama!

I really liked these little goats, but they were a bit unnerving when they hopped up on this table...

Aunt Lauren and I

My Aunt Lauren was in town this weekend from New York City. We had fun checking out some pygmie goats at the farm where we went to get pumpkins.

Three Banana Day

Today I ate three bananas. One for breakfast, one and a half for an afternoon snack, and the last half with my dinner. Tis a good fruit.

Apples from Lily

Today my friend Lily came over with a bag of homegrown apples for our family. Her grandparents live in my neighborhood and she comes over to visit sometimes when she's at their house. I'm pretty sweet on her these days. I had a good time stacking these apples into a bowl all by myself and then couldn't resist picking one up and sinking my teeth into it. I worked on it quietly for a whole half hour and almost finished the whole thing!

Wrapping up a Fun Weekend

I had a really couple of days this weekend with my parents. We took trips to parks and played in our yard a lot. I especially liked going down the big slide at Sunnyland Park and playing in a big pile of leaves at Memorial Park. Unfortunatley, my parents took photos on a new camera cell phone and don't know how to download them. So, here's one final shot of me wrapping up a fun weekend reading stories before bed with Dad.

Hedgie

When I was in the hospital last February my Uncle Steve brought me this little hedgehog. He's mostly been sitting on my bookshelf since then. Lately, though, he's been a real favorite. Every day when I get up from my nap I run around the house calling for him. It sounds like "Hah-Jee," "Hah-Jee," "Hah-Jee." I'm not satisifed until I can find him and give him a big kiss. Thanks, Uncle Steve!

Bath Time Sillies

Bath time can get a little silly in our household. I try to keep things calm and just play quietly with my bath toys, like this fish, but my Mom and Dad can't help but get a little goofy. Tonight this weird monkey showed up to whisk me away...

Autumn Art

Today, my Mom set up a special art project for me to work on. Coloring little pumpkins and leaves was fun, but not as much fun as taking the crayons in and out of the box. Clearly, Mom was missing the point...

Boys Will Be Boys

Today I went over to my friend Luke's house. He's the one on the left. His buddy Augustus was over so we all hung out for awhile. Luke's got a cool backyard so I had fun swinging and climbing up and down the big slide on his play structure. I could tell my Mom really enjoyed crouching down for so long and squeezing herself up and down behind me when I was on the slide. I'l have to bring her back sometime soon. I also enjoyed getting to know his dog, Roxie.

Papa and I

Sometimes, in the early evening, I need to take my parents for a nice relaxing walk and swing session at the neighborhood park. The fresh air does them some good.

Where's My Book?

Lately, I really enjoy looking through my Papa's bookshelf for something to read. I spend a lot of time looking at the choices but always settle down with the same one... Steal This Urine Test by Abbie Hoffman.

Bear Gathering

Yesterday I brought these bears out onto the couch so they could hang out together. They discusssed the usual...politics, religion, the cost of honey...

Hearty Laugh

I may look just like my Papa, but I sure do like to share a hearty laugh with my Mama

The Carrot Seed

Early Literacy

I've really been enjoying reading lately. It's great when my Mom and Dad read to me, but sometimes I just like to snuggle up with a book by myself. This one is about a little boy who follows his heart and doesn't let anyone discourage him. I quite like it. It's called The Carrot Seed.
