Olympic Sculpture Park

We braved the freezing wind and rain for a day out in Seattle with Uncle Adam, Aunt Lauren and Grandma and Grandpa Sachs. I enjoyed riding the Holiday Carousel with my mom and uncle and checking out some sculptures at the Olympic Sculpture Park.

Ducks

My Auntie Lauren and Uncle Adam were in town for a few days so we got to visit with them down at Grandma and Grandpa Sachs's house. We enjoyed feeding the ducks at a nearby lake.

Nothing like a nice long walk in the woods.

Twas The Night Before Christmas

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care. Thanks, Grandma and Grandpa Price for the stocking for Baby Girl Price.

Snacks were left out for Santa and his reindeer.

Santa Claus

Today we stopped by to take a peek at Santa. I didn't want to wait in line to sit on his lap, but was interested in peeking at him from afar to see just who this guy is that will be parking his sleigh and reindeer in my front yard tomorrow night.

I thought that he looked really nice.

Cookies!

A few nights ago we went to a cookie decorating party at my friend Ke'ala's house. I really enjoyed decorating cookies and eating a few, too. It was a fun evening playing with big and little kids and getting into the Christmas spirit.

Dear Santa

I got a little upset the other day when my mom told me that Santa and his reindeer would land on our roof on Christmas Eve. So, my Mom said that I could write Santa a letter asking him to park in the lawn instead and also letting him know about a toy I'd been talking about a lot lately.

Today I wrote that letter, as well as made Santa a special picture. Mom and I set the letter out in the mail box early this evening for our mailman to pick up tomorrow.

Here's what my letter said:

Dear Santa,

Hello. I hope that you are well. I also hope that all is good with Mrs. Claus, the reindeer and all the the elves.

I was writing you for a couple of reasons. First of all, I wanted to tell you that I don't want you putting your sleigh on my roof. I would like you to park it with your reindeer in my front yard instead.

Secondly, there is a neat toy made from wood that I have seen at my Cousin Owen and Finn's and also at my friend Quinn's. They are neat. I have been very good this year and was hoping that you might bring me some of these Tinker Toys.

We'll be leaving you cookies and milk on Christmas Eve and some carrots for the reindeer, too. Please travel safely,

Love Always,

Ezra Carter Price

Our Perfect Tree

This morning we braved the freezing rain and wind and headed out to Stoney Ridge Farm to cut ourselves a Christmas tree.

My Mom and Dad wandered back and forth through the fields forever deliberating on which was the perfect tree...this one was too tall, that one was too wide, that one was too uneven, this one was crooked. I happily went along with them for quite a while and then spoke up and said, "I want that one."

And lo and behold they had to agree it was the perfect tree.

So we got it and we plan to decorate it this evening.

At the farm we also enjoyed their nativity scene, complete with a live camel, goats, sheep and a pony. We also had some hot cocoa and cookies before braving the weather again and heading home.

As shepherds watched their flock by night...

Nights Four and Five

Jingle Bell Finish Line. I enjoyed listening to the Belligham High School Band

Last night I got to go over to Ke'ala's house to play for a bit. It was fun, as usual, and I enjoyed sharing the lighting of the menorah with her.

This morning, my Mommy and I did the Jingle Bell Run/Walk to raise money for Arthritis research.

Then, my whole family went to the local Waldorf School to check out their Winter Festival. I liked seeing the Winter Queen, making crafts with my friend Ana and enjoying some yummy homemade soup and bread. I also liked this sheep.

Tonight we're going to the Annual Bronstein Channukah Party. It's quite the to-do in town and usually even gets covered in the newspaper. I'm sure we'll have lots of fun.

First Snow

What a treat it was to wake up to snow this morning. We enjoyed a nice family walk this afternoon while the biggest flakes were coming down.

Nothing like a little snow to put you in the mood for the holidays!
