ezra and liza's blog

We're Ezra and Liza Jane. This our blog. It's where you can see what we've been up to lately. I'm Ezra. I love Mom, Dad, Sissy, playing outside, reading stories, soccer, building things, legoes and tigers. I'm Liza Jane. This is my blog, too. I love Mom, Dad, Ya Ya (Ezra), school, stories, being silly, dancing to music, taking care of my babies and showing off my big vocabulary.

L'Shanah Tova

A Happy Jewish New Year to you all.

It is customary to eat apples dipped in honey signifying the hope of a "sweet" new year. Here's a shot of ours, which I also decided to dip plums in.

Very sweet, indeed.

It's A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood..

...for the 2nd Annual Bellingham Bay Marathon! We were pretty excited to get up early this morning and walk just two houses down the street to the corner of Humboldt Street and East Illinois. There we found the Mile 2 water station where some of Mommy's old students were handing out water and Ultima to runners. We enjoyed ringing bells and cheering on the athletes in the early morning sunshine.

Jamboree

These Tinker Toy instruments have been a real hit around the house lately. Here are some shots of Daddy and I rocking out on the banjo and the violin to "Little Liza Jane" while the real Liza Jane watches and smiles.

Five months ago, today, our lives were forever changed by the arrival of the ever-joyful Liza Jane. We love you, Baby Sister!!!

call me skinny

We're not too sure why I had such red cheeks the other night...allergies, teething, sunburn? They were gone the next morning, but my svelte figure remains...

like father like son...

I've had this bike for sometime now, but hadn't shown much interest until Cousin Owie came to visit last month.

Now, I love my bike!

I even rode it all the way to and from the neighborhood Greek Festival the other night.

I can tell that Daddy is proud of me.

Winding Down...

We all survived our first day back today.

Mommy was quite pleased to find out, both when she called at lunch and when she picked us up, that sissy did drink from a bottle for her teachers at school. She found Liza Jane smiling, enjoying some tummy time and looking out the window at the toddlers when she came to pick us up.

I greeted Mommy with a big kiss and then begged to stay for one more round of Circle Time. Mister Doug was teaching us a name game in French. I chattered non-stop the whole way home about the new play area, the snacks, the stories, the Circle Time, the playdough and the new friend I laid next to during nap time. The Teddy Bear Room is a hit!

The sweetest reunion of the day, though, was when sissy saw me in my room after school. She gave the biggest grin we've ever seen and then continued to stare and grin at me for most of the evening. She kept grabbing onto my shirt and tugging on me during story time tonight trying to get my attention. It sure feels good to know how much she loves me.

Here are some shots of us winding own for the night. It looks as if Daddy may have finished his winding down a bit early...

Catching Up...

We haven't posted any pictures for a while because we've been busy soaking up the last few days of summer. Here are a few shots from a few weeks ago, though, that we forgot to post. They're from the Lynden Fair.

In other news...tomorrow is the big day.

Daddy goes back to work at Western Washington University. Mommy starts a new year of teaching at Whatcom Middle School. I start school again at BCLC and get to move into the Teddy Bear Room at my school with the other 3 to 4 year olds. I've been pretty excited about it all day. Little Sister has her very first day of school tomorrow, too.

Mommy isn't very happy about leaving us. She's already cried.

Maybe we'll post some pictures tomorrow when Mommy comes to get us. If she doesn't hit any traffic lights she should be scooping us up with kisses and hugs by 3:45.
